The General Council of the Notariat, in accordance with its commitment to promote the integration of people with disability, including those with physical or cognitive disabilities, and irrespective of the technological devices employed to access the information, has worked in accordance with the Accessibility Guidelines defined by the permanent working group Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at level AA.
The CGN website has been developed using XHTML (eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language) and stylesheets complying as far as possible with the validations of the W3C for XHTML 1.0and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).
The measures adopted in order to guarantee accessibility include the following:
- Text size. The fonts used have relative sizes, which allows the user to control their size via the browser being used.
- Design, navigation and interactivity. An attempt has been made to achieve coherent navigation throughout the website, following the same structural layouts on all pages.
- Keyboard shortcuts. A series of keyboard shortcuts has been established for access to the navigation menu options, and the links found at the foot of the page. These shortcuts vary depending on the browser used:
- With Internet Explorer 5 and higher you should press Alt, the shortcut key and then the enter key.
- With Mozilla and Netscape you should press Alt and the corresponding shortcut key
- With Firefox for a PC environment you should press Alt plus the CapsLock key and the shortcut key.
